Established in 2002 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), commonly referred to as SIU, is one of India's premier private multi-disciplinary universities based in Pune, Maharashtra. However, its journey began much earlier—way back in 1971—when the Symbiosis Society was formed by Dr. S. B. Mujumdar with the vision of promoting international understanding through quality education.
Over the years, Symbiosis has grown from a small international cultural and academic initiative into a full-fledged university offering globally relevant education. Today, SIU operates over 30+ constituent institutes across 8 campuses in India including Pune, Nashik, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Noida.
